Dragontown Corsets offers 100% Custom-Fitted Corset services. Whether you can take the time to visit our shop at 108 Broadway, Jim Thorpe, PA, or if you are halfway across the world, we can create a corset for you that is specially fitted. Simply add the custom costs to the regular cost of a stock corset in your chosen style and fabric.
Our complete custom service for stateside customers begins at $175.00. This includes:
A consultation, online or in our shop
Analysis of your measurements
A hand drafted pattern
A tightlacing mock up of the corset
Parcel Post shipping of the mock up
Some clients are a bit more challenging to fit than others. While we strive to create a perfect custom corset with only one draft of the pattern and one mock up, sometimes it is necessary to do additional alterations. Our a la carte services after the initial complete custom service are:
A pattern redraft: $30.00
A tightlacing mock up: $60.00
Parcel Post mock up shipping: $10.00
Upgrade to Priority shipping: $15.00
International clients will please be prepared for additional shipping costs, and a 1% currency exchange fee.
For clients who are unable to come to us for a personal fitting, we will email you a chart and diagram on which to record your measurements. Please employ the help of a friend, seamstress, or tailor to measure you. It is far more accurate this way, and you will be rewarded with a better-fitting corset.
When your mock up arrives, please photograph yourself wearing it from all angles, and make any notes about how it should be altered. Then please email us with this information so we can determine how the corset should be re-fitted. Then just ship the mock up back to us so we can get to work!
Clients are welcome to provide their own fabric. On average, we require only 1.5 yards. There are a few fabrics that do not yield nice results. Avoid very light, floaty fabrics like light silks and chiffons, fabrics with deep piles like velvet, and things that stretch. We are open to clients who want to provide their own leather or PVC, but we must have a one-foot square swatch first to make sure it is compatible with our sewing machines. In addition, be choosy about the texture of your fabric. Anything that is rough, like sequins, will irritate the delicate skin of the underarms.
